First of all I wish to say that I am sorry that I cannot
attend due to prior commitments. Things have gone
very well especially the last twenty years. I have worked
mostly in Houston as a structural draftsman/designer, a
drafting supervisor and as a group or section leader.
From Houston I was sent to work for various periods of
time in Norfolk,Virginia, Corpus Christi and Lafayette, La.
Worked in Dubai, U.A.E. for a short time in 2002.
I was able to take early retirement some years ago. So,
for about the past 10 years I have done contract work when
I wanted to, take it easy and travel around the world.
Have been to Australia and New Zealand quite a few times.
This includes spending over 2 months in mainly Western
Australia in 2001. Spent a lot of this time in the "outback"
with a 4wd camper which allowed me to go into quite a few
very remote places. On another trip I went to Tasmania.
I've made trips to some exotic places. During the past years
I have been to Bora Bora, Easter Island, Greenland, Iceland,
Egypt, Oman and Svalbard Archipelago (the High Artic), to
the town of Longyearbyen. On the way to and back from
Svalbard I spent some time driving around southern Norway.
The traveling has all been great fun but my greatest blessing
has been excellent health to date. In writing this I realize
that over the past 40 years I have never had to use my medical
insurance for an illness. During the years after high school
I did gained a lot of weight, even to up over 200 lbs for a
short time in the mid 90s. My senior year I was 6ft tall and
I think about 119 lbs. Who would have believed.
Good luck to all
In heart and mind..........be forever young. jwc
