Comments:

After graduation, I attended Brazosport College for two years. While attending class, a recruiter came looking for prospective draftsman. I worked in Petro Chemical plants and for Engineering Company’s on the Texas gulf coast for the first 10 years moving from job to job. I was approached in late 1978 about a contract drafting position at Howe-Baker Engineers in Tyler, Texas. I was promised 11 months of work. I accepted and moved to Tyler in January 1979. For the last 29 years, I have made the Tyler area my home. As a piping designer/coordinator I have been associated with many oil & gas related projects around the world. I have had the opportunity to work with interesting people, enjoy lasting friendships and travel.
I was divorced twice and blessed with a son in my first marriage, Jason served in the Navy and works for an engineering company in Houston as a draftsman, two daughters in my second marriage, Brandy who graduated from Texas A&M and teaches 7th grade Science in Rusk, TX. Sherry served in the US Army (E7). She earned her LVN degree and works at VA Hospital in Lexington, KY. She is working on her RN degree.
I found and married my best friend Billie in 1986. Billie and her two children lived in Overton, Texas. She retired from the Overton ISD where she was a secretary. Our daughter Amye passed away in 2003. She left us with two wonderful granddaughters Emily & Sharah. Our son David McLane graduated from Stephen F. Austin and lives in New York and works for an Advertizing Agency.
God has truly blessed our family. We designed and built two homes on Lake Tyler. The first in 1997 and second in 2001 lived in both before selling them. In 2006 we designed and built our third beautiful home. Billie’s Mom & Dad live with us. We live in Whitehouse, Texas about 8 miles South of Tyler. The kid’s are all doing fine and we hear from them often.
I love building, play my old guitar, write a poem now & then, golf, fish, hunt and enjoy reading so much (back in school reading was a waste of time and wasn’t sure if I was going to graduate “class of 68” because I almost failed literature. I passed by the skin of my teeth. Is that not crazy?). I work for a small Engineering company that builds Cryogenic Gas Plants and work with some great people.
East Texas has been a great place to live and enjoy. I have fond memories of our Clute Junior High School class, Brazosport High School days and how many remember the band, “Sylent Echo”. Best wishes to all!
