Occupation: Professor and Dean Emeritus
Children: None - but have two nephews that we have helped raise since my brother Volney Griffin died at age 34. More… Volney Jr. and Shawn Griffin own an electrical contracting company in Livingston, Texas. Together they have produced 5 kids...all of which Alexia and Glen love! Three of the kids visit Glen and Alexia often in Lubbock...spending summers and spring break.

Alexia married Glen one year after high school. Alexia became a nurse after attending Alvin Community College and graduating at age 20 to become an RN. She has had a long and successful career in nursing obtaining baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degrees in nursing (two UT degrees and one TWU). Alexia is currently a Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock Texas. She served a Dean for 10 years and transitioned to slower pace in 2010 and is now Dean Emeritus. She and Glen are now Red Raiders! They have lived in Lubbock for 16 years and loved West Texas. They have now moved back to Livingston Texas where Alexia's family resides - her mom is 89 and they needed to be closer to help her. Alexia and Glen travel extensively in their motorhome across the US as well as around the world - recent trips include Africa, Europe, South America and Asia.
School Story:

My best high school friends were my junior high friends (Clute Junior High) - Marilyn Scott (Tracey), Sue Miller, Janie Broaddus, and Margie Jones. They all played darn good soft ball and we beat Lake Jackson/Freeport teams every chance we got! Alexia also hung out with Maria Seidler (Atkins)(her cousin and one year younger)- and they are still close today. Maria often joins Glen and Alexia in their travels!
