Cecelia Cox Cope

I'm retired as of June, 2016. I taught middle school science in a K-8 Catholic school since 1988. Each January I spent a week in the Northwoods area near Ely, MN snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and generally appreciating the Boundary Waters wilderness area with them. Steve Cope and I have been married for 37 years. He is recently retired from his job as Managing News editor for an internet broadcasting company--Lakana. No grandchildren. My son Chris is married, lives in Wales. My son Jon lives in Burnsville, MN. Since retiring I am more involved with the Japanese Garden across the street from our condo (on the campus of the Normandale Community College) and I still sing in the Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Sanctuary Choir.

My favorite school story is how I met my husband. I sat in front of him in Mrs. Huff's class in senior English. I enjoyed the witty remarks he mummbled throughout the class. Our first date was to the Chemistry club dance.
A funny memory is Algebra II and Mrs. Street's use of stars and hearts instead of letters as variables.
